TNT Web Design ensures that all websites it
develops are fully tested in the correct environment. We can also evaluate
and test a clients existing website and quote for any improvements or
modifications required.
Testing covers all aspects for the website from forms processing, scripting,
database transactions, etc. Testing can be done from a visitor's perspective
only where we have no access to the internals of the site design, alternatively
a client can make available all source code for testing.
The following are some of the features we check when testing a website;
- Site Access
- We check that all domain names gain access to the site where expected and all
pages can be found as per the original design.
- Site Layout
- We check that the site layout is clean and doesn't distort or break up at
different browser sizes. We also check site colours and transparencies where
required. We may offer suggestions on how the sites layout or design can be
improved to be more user friendly or more cross browser compatible.
- Bandwidth Requirements
- We check site download times and bandwidth requirements suggesting optimisations
where appropriate. We check all graphics etc. are used at the optimal compression
rates to provide the best download times. We check that all multimedia content is
suitably encoded and appears as expected
- Site Navigation
- We check that all pages of a website can be accessed easily and that all
internal and external links are functional and open in the correct windows etc.
- Client side scripts and applets
- We check that all client side scripts and applets work as designed and that
all online forms allow the correct data to be input.
- Server side scripts and servlets
- We check that all server side scripts and servlets work as designed. Where
access to the server side code is available we will check that the code is
efficient and performs as expected. We can check access to files and databases etc.
- Cross browser compatibility
- Where required we can check that the site is compatible with all the major
web browsers. We can provide a report of compatibility problems with differing
web browsers and offer suggestions for improvement.
Whilst we may suggest solutions and improvements to sites you are under no obligation
to commission us to develop the solutions etc., however, we will always offer you
a competitive price for the work required.

Prices
Testing is charged on an hourly basis starting at £20 per hour. We will
quote on the expected duration required to test a site once the site has
been seen and the client's requirments determined.
